Larimer Cup supporting Restoration Now

This year's United Way Larimer Cup supported Restoration Now!!! It was an eventful & fun day at the Fort Collins Country Club. About four holes into the tournament it began to lightning & hail with 2 tornadoes touching down in Fort Collins! But the weather cleared up and it turned into a beautiful day. I was the "official" photographer and took pictures of the teams. Ryan played on a team with Bruce, our pastor Scott Lowe, & friend Jay Seier. Overall the tournament was a great success and brought in some much needed funds to support Josh & Nicole's vision for Restoration Now. Update on our Wren Family

As of Tuesday, we have baby wrens in our birdhouse! The mom feeds them constantly and their "cheep, cheeps" are growing louder and louder by the day. The dad flutters around protecting from predators (mainly us & visiting jays) with a horrible gurgling racket. Overall they are very pleasant tenants. . . I will post more pics as the chicks start to emerge from their cozy home.House Wren

More Storms

A storm blew in tonight and the clouds were amazing! This is the house just northwest of ours. I couldn't resist snapping this picture. It looks like something out of the movie Twister. Shockingly enough, we had 2 tornado touch downs in Fort Collins on Monday. Good thing we live in a concrete bunker.Storm in the Mountains

Ta ta! It looks like rain. . . again!

It has been raining nearly everyday for 3 weeks! I'm starting to forget what sunny Colorado looks like! The good news is that this is the first time in 11 years that our region is drought free. Bring on the rain!

Jamie & Cody's Wedding

Last weekend, Ryan & I traveled with the Jenkins family to Hot Springs, Arkansas for cousin Jamie's wedding. We had such a great time hanging out with everyone, eating Grandma Betty's shrimp dip, & dancing our hearts out! We are so excited for Jamie and proudly welcome Cody to the family!

Photographers Convention

A good friend from childhood, Jenna Dee Detro, & I recently reconnected to find that we were both pursuing careers in photography. Jenna Dee's current focus is on children & families (and web design) but I convinced her that weddings are the BOMB! So she flew up to photograph a wedding with Ryan & I. We also spent some time snapping picks at the ranch & Rocky Mountain National Park. We've come a long way since our high school photography elective 13 years ago. It was so much fun to reconnect and share photography secrets with each other. Check out Jenna Dee's Website & Blog! She's amazing! What is that?!?!

I was in the garage one evening and heard a bird flapping its wings. It seemed to be trapped behind a stack of boxes up on our shelf. I climbed up onto the car and peered over expecting to rescue a sweet little song bird. But instead I saw this strange, bizarre creature from the fire swamp!! It was not sweet at all and instantly began hissing at me! I slowly removed the boxes to free the bird. . .which turned out to be a Common Poorwill - a night hawk. The thing continued its attempts to frighten me by opening its wings & huge mouth. After snapping these photos I opened the garage and left the little vulture to fend for itself.Common PoorwillCommon Poorwill
