Happy Thanksgiving!

We had everyone up to the ranch this year for Thanksgiving. Ryan smoked 2 turkeys and we had all of the fixins. In true "Mojo" style we fit everyone (11 adults & 2 youngsters) around one x-large table. It was a feast!

Check out my adorable nephews sporting their plaid flannel digs. Ollie talks about "baby Sam" all of the time. He was so excited to get to hold him. The next morning after Jolly, Cherie, & Sam left the ranch, Ollie went from room to room asking, "Where's baby Sam?" No doubt they will be causing trouble together for years to come.

Something new

As many of you know, we have cactus' galore at the ranch. We are constantly stickered and pricked by these unfriendly plants and it's about time they were useful for something. So after some research, I have decided to make jam. The prickly pear fruit is sweet... I don't quite know how to explain the taste but most sources claim they are blackberry-melon-like. So we'll stick with that. Wish me luck!

A Tasty Treat

We ran out of dog food today. This happens from time to time... and the dogs excitedly eat all our uneaten leftovers from the fridge. But since we are low on food too, their dinner was a tasty treat of peanut butter and rice. Yummm! Gunner looks calm in the photo below.. but don't let that deceive you. He is anxiously eyeing his 2nd helping of peanut butter goodness, while waiting for permission to eat.

Fresh Bread

When I was growing up, my mom made fresh bread frequently. Per Ryan's suggestion, I decided to give bread making a try. Well, after the first batch (baked this morning), we decided it is well worth the trouble! I made a honey whole wheat and it was amazing! We are addicted. Now I am trying my luck at a sourdough starter. The next time you see us we will weight 300 lbs!
